PARKER ARMORED CAROUSEL HORSE

OUTSIDE ROW FIGURE FROM A TWO ROW CAROUSEL

THIS HORSE ORIGINALLY CAME FROM THE JOYLAND AMUSEMENT PARK

IN LUBBOCK TEXAS

THIS IS HOW THE FIGURE LOOKED BEFORE STRIPPING THE PARK PAINT

THIS IS HOW IT LOOKS NOW WITH BASIC WOOD REPAIR DONE

This figure was purchased from Jimmy Dean who owned the park. It was repaired and is now in a shellac primer and is ready for the sanding primer. It has three curls of armor on the side and has a fish on the cantel. It has a “peek-a-boo” in it's tail. This is a classic piece of American Art. It will have a host of jewels when fully restored if desired. It looks very good as it is and was featured in the Armor exhibit of the Sandusky Carousel Museum in Sandusky Ohio which is the home of The Cedar Point Amusement Park.
