DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful tucked head figure with characteristic Illions features and is professionally restored.. It has several unusual features. The most noteworthy unusual feature is the head position. This position is not frequently found on Illions figures. Also unusual, though not completely unique, is that the mane does not extend to the top of the trapping and/or saddle. This horse has glass eyes and jewels and a real horse hair tail. Chest to rump length is 41inches and head to front hoof height is 45". This is a size typical of a 2nd row figure.

Research information concerning this horse was provided by Dick and Barbara Shilvock and much of the authenticity certification is dependent upon the information provided by the Shivlocks. The Shivlocks are respected carousel collectors and restorers and they performed the restoration of this horse. They are currently living at 21659 Gold Dust Trail, in Nemo, South Dakota, 57759-7611. This horse came from the Southwest, around Amarillo, Texas. They purchased this figure in 1984 at an auction of The Hillyo Museum property that was held in Hill City, South Dakota. They indicated this figure had been in the Hill City area for about 30 to 40 years and shortly before it was sold at the auction this figure and another carousel horse had been displayed outside on the roof of the Hillyo museum.
